Grief Care and Macarthur Memorial Park Connect with the Community at Ageing with Confidence
Grief Care and Macarthur Memorial Park (MMP) were delighted to participate in CatholicCare’s Ageing with Confidence community event at Campbelltown Catholic Club.
The event brought together older people, their families, carers and community members to explore practical information, services and support that promote ageing with dignity, confidence and connection. Expert presentations covered topics including healthy ageing, navigating support services, understanding ageism, and remaining connected within the community. (Catholic Diocese of Wollongong)
Our shared stall provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with attendees, answer questions and share information about the compassionate services offered by both Grief Care and Macarthur Memorial Park. Many meaningful conversations highlighted the importance of planning ahead, supporting one another through life’s changes, and knowing where to turn for care when grief and loss are experienced.
Throughout the morning, visitors learnt more about Grief Care’s free grief accompaniment/pastoral support, grief education, Sharing Circles, workshops and memorial services, while also discovering how Macarthur Memorial Park provides beautiful spaces for remembrance and reflection. It was a privilege to meet so many members of the community, strengthen existing relationships and raise awareness of the support available to individuals and families before, during and after times of loss.
